Women need to assume much of the responsibility for the early detection of and the treatment decisions regarding breast cancer. A woman can help protect herself by learning as much as she can about its symptoms and by faithfully incorporating a monthly breast self-exam and a regular mammogram and clinical breast exam into her schedule.
